Operational Readiness

The objective of NAPTA’s Operational Readiness services is to ensure that the facilities (be it green field or brown field) are designed and built to agreed standards, operate and maintain with optimum manning levels, utilise appropriate smart technologies, are started-up flawlessly and meet the Production Promise. In addition this service provides assurance that the future Asset Owner is fully prepared to receive, operate and maintain the facilities.

By applying NAPTA’s Operational Readiness standards and guidelines the required interaction between the Project Team and the future Asset Owner will be described to achieve the highest level of performance in the Project Execution and Project-to-Asset (P2A) processes. In this model, the Project Manager is accountable for delivering the facility to the required performance criteria. Early on boarding of key Operational Readiness project personnel is important to support the Project Manager for a flawless project delivery. One of such positions is the Operation Readiness Manager, who provides support to the Project Manager in respect of resources to conduct and coordinate the work specific to Operational Readiness activities.

Further guidance for Operational Readiness practitioners is provided within the Operational Readiness Roadmap and related Activity Sheets. In our methodology, the Operational Readiness Manager is accountable to ensure that generic activities and tasks in the Operational Readiness roadmap are developed into specific ones with clearly stated responsible persons for execution.
