Subsurface Science & Engineering Services

Studies of past sub-surface projects, which have followed the Strategic Decision Based Integrated Reservoir Modelling (SDB-IRM®) process, have demonstrated that an effectively planned project delivers a higher standard of result with more focus on the project-specific decisions and deliverables.

The SDB-IRM® process has been developed in the NAPTA subsurface science & engineering management team, building on the Woodside Energy process in developing the upstream oil and gas resources. Its objective is to provide a shared and structured approach in the way we progress development of opportunities/projects from the Business Framing (FEL1) Phase to the Scope Development (FEL2) based on the NAPTA’s PDS® and in line with the NAPTA’s PDP®.

The SDB-IRM® process is a structured approach to risk identification, uncertainty management and concept evaluation. It draws on several proprietary tools and techniques.
